If you are unfamiliar with NEW WAVE TOYS, they make AWESOME products with exceptional customer service but their products usually have their quirks. All of these units have a volume knob consistency, low volume distortion, fluid on handle.

M90 MINI Volume knob consistency
We understand that the volume control is not as smooth and evenly graduated as expected. We're currently working on a firmware update that will reset the volume controls to a more linear,"1-thru-10" control. We hope to have this update ready the first week of May.
M90 MINI Low volume distortion
At this time, we can only confirm that we're working on a more complex firmware update to reduce or remove the excessive system noise that is apparent at low volume settings. Please note, additional research and time are needed to confirm how effective the update will be. Please stand by and we'll be back with more information shortly.
Sticky fluid on M90 MINI handle
We've had reports of a sticky fluid leaking from the handle area on some units. This is non-hazardous silicone damping fluid used to help create the slow-resistance movement of the handle. An excessive amount of this fluid was applied during mass production. Unfortunately, this issue went undetected during inspection and only became apparent after transit.
Follow these instructions to safely clean the excess silicone off your M90 Mini:
Wet the tip of a cotton swab with alcohol, then dab or wipe off the excess silicone fluid until it is all gone. It may take several swabs to complete the job. Take care not to drip excess alcohol on yourM90. Once the job is completed, you may notice that the handle moves more easily. Once the excess alcohol evaporates, the handle should once again move in a slow, steady rate.

Since our last update, we’ve been focused on developing and testing new versions of firmware for the M90 MINI Blaster.
Firmware updates are very tricky and time consuming, as both new bugs and previously corrected bugs are constantly popping up during testing. These bugs then need to be corrected and retested. We apologize for the delay, as we wanted to ensure this is the absolute best improvement we can offer, and this process took a lot longer than expected.
We’re happy to share the following new update with improvements to the M90 MINI’s volume dial functionality. Unfortunately, improvements while listening to low volume music, pod casts, audio books is not as significant, but this is the best we could do without changing any of the components, circuit board layout, etc.
